$1500 to $2500 CAD gaming pc build

tank234

need some help with a new pc build my budget is $1500 CAD but I do not mind if it goes over by a bit like up to $2500. I want this pc to be able to play games at 1440p and 4k resolution at 60fps and watch youtube and browse the internet and do my school work. I built a pc myself using some youtube help but don't know if it is good I have some parts already from my previous pc like the storage and more. Any help is appreciated

Edit: I don't know if I should go with the 3600x or the 3700x as the 3600x is currently $265 CAD and the 3700x is $430 CAD. Is there much difference?

this is the build

First change the CPU to Ryzen 9  3900X

Second change the ram to Corsair Vengeance  Pro 16GB RGB

the cooler and rest of the things can be the same. Hope this works 😃

Hi

I would change the board to an MSI B450 Tomahawk MAX or B450-A PRO MAX as that Asus one isn't that great.

You will be fine with a 650W psu.

The Arctic Freezer 34 esports duo is a better cooler.

Also do you already own the Ram ? As the timings are not ideal for 3600.

You're in solid X570 pricing with that board. Better get an X570 TuF.

Also, drop the 212 cooler, it's not better than the stock Wraith Prism

You can simply share a pcpartpicker permalink, which is at the top of the page, instead of a screenshot.

like this:

less expensive PSU and motherboard, guaranteed compatible board as well.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

You think a 3700X can't handle a 2080 Super at 1440p or 4K ? A 3900X is not worth the extra money for a gaming pc.

No worries. The 3900X is a good cpu but not really needed for just a gaming system :) The fps difference between them isn't enough to justify the price diff.

Is it a dual channel kit ? That freq is a touch slow for Ryzen so you would have to try and overclock it with the Ryzen dram calculator and see if you can get it to at least 3000MHz. If you just want plug and play then you are better just buying a new kit of 3000MHz - 3600MHz CL16.

That G.Skill kit you have listed in your opening post is better, or just look at 3000MHz - 3200MHz CL16 kits on pcpartpicker if you want something a bit cheaper.

alright thanks
