Switch virutual desktop also triggers unwanted shortcuts

The shortcut to change virtual desktop is ctrl+win+(left/right arrow), but some websites have ctrl+(left/right arrow) as a shortcut to navigate to the next page, which also gets triggered when I switch virtual desktop. Is there a way that I can avoid this?

Don't press arrow keys before you are already holding Win key down.

Then what might the problem be if it only works when Win is held down?
