B450 Motherboards Supporting 3000 Ryzens

Go to solution Solved by Slottr,

Depends when the board was manufactured. Its possible, but depends on the model

MSI MAX boards are ready out of the box

I asked a customers support yesterday on an online shop yesterday, and they said most B450 motherboards support 3000 series Ryzen out-of-box (no BIOS update needed before using 3000 series). Anyone know if that is true?

sorry for the image quality. I edited it in my phone.

Yes, most motherboards are updated out of the box for Ryzen 3000 nowadays.

If you receive the board, check if there is a 'Ryzen 3000 desktop ready' image on it.

Yep they are being honest. Most of the stock at regular retailers is updated for Ryzen 3000.

Worst comes to worst, just buy a board that offers bios flashing without a CPU. It's fairly common these days (not everyone has it though).

True. Only MSI B450Ms and X470s, ROG also support but only C7H.
