I had top exhaust covered by a towel for 6 hours. How detrimental is that?

I left a towel fully covering the top exhaust for about 6 hours of using the computer. I forgot I left it there.

The rear exhaust was still open. How harmful is that to a computer?

Probably not at all, the computer should shut itself down before damaging itself.
