Desktop Computer Case

Does anybody make a desktop style computer case anymore (rather than a tower)?

I'm thinking about custom building one for my next build to keep things cool and compact…but would like to consider the easier, and likely cheaper, option of just buying one.

Must be mATX at least, full size ATX capability preferred.

Must support optical drive.

No, I'm looking for a non-tower.  "Desktop" computers are flat, rather than tall like a "tower".

You confused me. What you're looking for is a Small Form Factor machine. These use Mini ITX motherboards.

Buying The Best Mini ITX Case In 2020

A desktop computer is the term referred to as a computer using parts designed for a proper computer.

A mini ITX build will be more expensive than a typical ATX or mATX build.

Ah, I didn't know mATX SFF cases existed.

Good luck trying to find an ATX SFF Case though.

Nope.  Not small form factor.  Desktop.

This type of style, from back when monitors were normally set on top of the computer.

Not smaller than normal tower cases, but designed to be horizontal rather than vertical.
