Streaming Device

Hello all!

I finally got my server rack setup in my new house and I was wondering if there was any way to access a streaming computer/server that is in the rack from my living room without having to run HDMI cables.

Thanks.

I was going to see if their was a way to avoid that so that I didnt have to have another PC in the living room. I was going to see if their was a smaller device or something.

I just feel as if their would be latency issues with using RDP and trying to stream.

either you have a direct connection to it, or you're going to be streaming in some capacity.

If you have a dedicated GPU in your rack you should have a look at Parsec.

This software should be able to avoid issues with latency / performance.

(Its like Steam inhome streaming but for the entire desktop)

You can do this on the cheap with a raspberry pi 4. You will need to copy paste a dozen lines of code, but it is pretty simple.

You are essentially just needing something to serve as a thin client to connect to your vdi.

Like AngryBeaver said use a Raspberry Pi have content streamed over the network to it i.e. Plex, Kodi or Steam OS. But if you are running a network cable to your living room anyway and running the system on the box from your network cab you could use HDMI over Ethernet
