My motherboard lights stay on after shutdown

Recommended Posts

So I have a aorus b360 gaming 3 wifi and recently had a power outage that was not called for. It happens whenever I shutdown my computer and the lights only go off when I flip the switch on the psu. My psu is the EVGA 650 bq 80+ bronze rated.

...they're supposed to do that?

You can disable them in BIOS if it bothers you.

Unimatrix 8086 - i7-8086K - GTX 960. It's got a damn GTX 960. I'm tired of 5700 XTs not working out, so it has a monkey fartin' GTX 960. - AsRock Z390 Phantom Gaming-ITX/AC - 16 GB HyperX Fury DDR4-2133 - 1TB Western Digital Black SN750 M.2 NVMe - 500GB Toshiba XG5 NVMe - 3x 1TB Inland Professional - 960GB SanDisk Ultra II - Corsair SF600 - Cougar QBX - Deepcool Gammaxx C40

If you are talking about the RGB LEDs being on, as the others have said, they can be turned off.

You can choose how the RGB light behave when the computer is ON / Off / Sleep / Hibernation mode.

You can either do it directly through BIOS:

1) Page -34- in the motherboard manual...under the Peripherals menu tab.

2) Through RGB Fusion software.

On my ASUS X99 Deluxe II motherboard, it actually had the option to set how the RGBs reacted when in the different modes.

(e.g. on the ASUS, I can get it to cycle RGB lights when computer is ON, set RGB to dim white colour when in Sleep, all RGBs off when computer is Off)

Doesn't look like Gigabyte has that option -- only on/off.
