NVMe bios

pla24660

I put a new drive in my pc (970 evo) and now I'm trying to boot and it won't work. Everytime I do save and exit in the bios it resets and says Cmos bios cleared. I had another drive but my parents made me take it out and break it so I think it's trying to boot from an os it doesn't have, but idk how to fix it.

Boot the system with OS on USB "media creation tool" if windows plugged in. Set the usb in boot menu as 1. Save and exit. Should go straight to USB and just install OS on the new drive.

Since this is your only drive and it's blank right?

Recommend at least 4GB. However big the media creation tool is though you'll need that size. Make sure you get the latest one cause you'll be installing updates forever if using an old one.

Also FYI: Do a new clean install and don't connect to internet during it until posting to desktop, "disable all spyware" if you want some of them for your use then go ahead enable some, then connect to the internet via Ethernet/WiFi and install updates of windows before you touch any applications or files.
