Monitor HDMI Ports

Is there a difference between HDMI ports on a monitor? There are 2 HDMI ports on my monitor and is there a difference with latency or the resolution or refresh rate the monitor can handle? I have no idea about this kinda stuff so any help is greatly appreciated. I only wonder because my monitor is a 75hz 2560p x 1440p monitor and using the current HDMI port I have it plugged into it feels “rough” at 75hz with the native resolution. I either have to have it at 2560 x 1440 at 70hz or 1920 x 1080 at 75 hz for it to feel smooth. Any help is appreciated.
