3700x or 3900x?

Coming from an i5 4460, and my GPU is the 1660. I'll probably keep the GPU for a bit and then switch a 5700 XT/2070 level card later on. I mostly use my PC for gaming, video recording but not while gaming, and a bit of video editing. Which is a better purchase?

You're beyond fine with a 3700x. You won't nearly use a 3900x to it's full potential.

like @Statik said, 3700x will be more than capable for what you're doing, the 3900x will pretty much just be overkill.
