$400 GPU Upgrade

ShadowChaser

I'm currently running a 1070Ti that has served me well when I was playing at 1080p 144hz, but I've since gotten a 1440p 144hz monitor and I think my gpu is struggling a little to keep up, forcing me to drop details. Granted, none of the games I currently own are unplayable at this resolution but I'm hoping to get an upgrade at some point and my budget is approximately $400 +/- $20. I can buy a used 1080Ti and preserve my water loop, or spring for a 5700XT or RTX 2070/RTX 2060S

All of the above options would warrant a PSU upgrade as well, in my opinion, since I'm running an 8700K and 1070 Ti on 450W. What card would you upgrade to and why?

Daily Driver: Asus ROG Flow X13 - 5900HS/3050 Ti

Primary Desktop: NCase M1 - 5800X3D/RX 6950XT

Travel PC: Fractal Terra - 5800X/RTX 3060 Ti

I have too many computers. List here.

The 1080Ti would be the fastest out of all of those options, with the 5700XT being closest to it, so I'd say one of these two would be the best option, with the deciding factor being whether or not you're comfortable not having warranty for your card.

Unless you own a very high quality PSU, you'll most likely need to upgrade it, especially if you go for the 1080Ti which does consume quite a bit more power than even the 5700XT.
