Windows 10 key

gamesalex

It's a retail key, so not OEM.

There's a Q&A section down the bottom of that page with that question answered by someone who bought it.

Wait hold on, someone else asked if it was an oem or retail and they were told its an oem, however I believe ebuyer sells another copy of windows 10 that specifies its an oem. Does this mean its safe to assume that this is a retail key?

The question I saw says it's retail. But they haven't mentioned OEM anywhere in the listing, so it's safe to assume it's retail.

If you're really worried, ask ebuyer, they'll be able to tell you for sure.

Can anyone confirm whether this is exactly the same as a key from the windows website or if its an oem or something similar?

Thanks in advance.

You should ask Microsoft directly if part code KW9-00265 is OEM or retail. I think it may be OEM but then I think OEM only comes as DVD. https://support.microsoft.com/#

Its retail key. You can tell from price. OEMs aren't sold at over £100. None of the Win10 licenses are sold on DVDs, all would be USBs at this point anyway.

You are completely wrong mate. Lookie here here is Windows 10 Home OEM DVD.

https://www.komplett.no/product/852448/datautstyr/programvare/operativsystem/microsoft-windows-10-home-64-bit-oem

Yes DVD. It costs NOK 1490, which is around $140

Windows 10 Home retail USB for sale here at around $160 or NOK 1690.

https://www.komplett.no/product/1136521/datautstyr/programvare/operativsystem/microsoft-windows-10-home.

So clearly Windows 10 OEM both Home and Pro comes with DVD, what I'm not 100% sure about is if they come as DVD only. BUT there is only around $20 difference in price between them, only difference is retail was USB and OEM was DVD.

For me being completely wrong would mean that the key linked is also OEM. Which its not, as from same site https://www.ebuyer.com/718644-windows-10-home-64-bit-oem-kw9-00139

I admit being wrong about there not being DVD option for Win10. I remembered this wrong, I think.

Good find, since it has a different part code I think now that you were correct that the version OP wanted to know is retail. I also notice now that it was a download version which to my knowledge is retail only to buy.
