Just wondering guys, is it possible to completely remove the back set of white LED's from the case? I've never been a fan of them as they are too bright and don't fit with my red and black theme, at the moment the LED's are just unplugged but i want to completely remove the wiring for them without effecting the LED on the NZXT logo, looked complicated when i checked. Can it be done?

Thanks

yes, the rear i/o LED is its own circuit and can be changed/removed and not

affect the rest of the LED usage.

Thanks, i just remember when i last had the case open it seemed a bit awkward to locate the wiring round the case so i figured it couldn't be done. I'll have another look and hopefully i can remove it.

Okay guys, I got done with this a couple of weeks ago. Its not the best and its pretty usual black and red H440 but that's because I got all the parts for the best deals. Give me your comments and suggestions if you would like, I encourage it.

Also I do really like the XFX cooler, I think it looks great and cools pretty well but I will be putting a Kraken G10 on it in a month or so.

depending on region, it is well priced to what it is. a mid-tower with some options

and functionality. most think it is a plastical case, but far from it especially looking

at its competition (450D, enthoo pro, arc midi, r5, etc..)

I've been reluctant to post my H440 as I'm always changing it, but here it is... I kind of went all out with cooling.. The airflow (or lack there of) was always annoying me, although I do love the case after all this.

Notable:

  • Custom waterloop
  • 10 Fans (11 including the PSU, 8 Noctua industrialsPPC)
  • 3 Radiators (360mm, 280mm, 240mm)
  • 2x 240mm holes cut in the panels.
  • 2 water temp sensors
  • 2 mode lighting (White mode and UV mode) controlled by two switches at the back

Here is the build log post with specs: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/255872-project-whiteout-v20-h440-watercooled-3xradiators-10-fans/

So is cooling for this case going to be a huge issue? Or do you think that the 3 front fans are enough to cool both a dual 120mm radiator as well as a single 120mm radiator? The dual radiator in the top and the single one in the rear, both exhaust?

Collecting every single CPU in existence? Is it possible? I have no idea, but i'm sure gonna try! http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/341848-dont-throw-away-old-cpus-im-collecting/

You can take a look at my solution with my build here

The 3 fans in front are more than enough to draw in fresh air. If you have SP fans on your radiators as well, I think you will be just fine like any other case. I replaced my front fans with SP fans and my temps are ideally where I want it to be. I also have SP fans on my radiators.

Awsome, i wasnt sure if the 3 ones in front would be ehough as it has the front panel, that honestly starves the system of air. but if it has enough flow then im excited to be able to finnally start putting this together... as soon as my case gets here that is

My original H440. There's a staggering lack of orange on this thread D:

http://imgur.com/a/tmbOt

The updated build, less orange, but still more than the average H440 on this thread

Build:

Gigabyte GA Z97X-SOC

Intel Core i5 4690K Intel Core i7 4790K

Sapphire Tri-X R9 280X EVGA GTX 980 FTW EVGA GTX 980Ti ACX2.0+

Noctua NH-U12S (with EKWB F3 Vardar fan).

EVGA Supernova 850GS PSU

16GB G.Skill Ares (2x4GB)/Ripjaws X (2x4GB) Klevv Fit series (4x4GB)

120GB Samsung 840 EVO + 1TB Seagate Barracuda

2 more EKWB Vardar F3 fans up front as intake.

Finally got some orange cable extensions, and have some orange G.Skill Ares incoming. Updates when those arrive.

STILL a surprising lack of orange on this thread.

Update: New graphics card!

EVGA GTX 980 FTW (replacing one 8pin orange PCIE extension with black).

Orange Ares RAM installed.

PCIE cables re-run vertically.

Update: New Processor!

Intel Core i7 4790K

Let me be perfectly clear, this upgrade was neither necessary nor cost effective. I have two systems including this one, and the other is (was) rocking a Pentium G3258 and was effectively a Mini ITX lan rig. Gaming has stopped agreeing with dual core processors of late, and I needed to switch out the little beasty with something rocking a couple more cores. I could have very easily upgraded the ITX computer instead but chose this route. The 4690K will be moved to the ITX system where it will meet new friends and frolic at its leisure.

Info on the i7:

At stock, factory settings had my chip at a whopping 1.288 vcore. I quickly scaled that back to a flat 1.2 and upped the frequency from 4.0 to 4.5GHz. Temps under load sit in the high 50's/ low 60's under my Noctua NH-U12S rocking an EKWB Vardar F3. Prime95 (yes I know; it's bad for Haswell chips) for 6 hours confirms stability.

As a final note, I'm pretty sure I'm the only person on this entire forum rocking the Orange and Black H440.

Cinders: - i7 4790K (4.5GHz) - Gigabyte Z97X-SOC - 16GB Klevv DDR3 1600MHz - EVGA GTX 980Ti ACX2.0+ (1548MHz Boost) - EVGA Supernova 850GS - NZXT H440 Orange/Black (Modified) -

Yes, I know. First tested the card in the x16 slot and when changing to a x8, the difference was negligible(in the margin of error), well wort showing up that sexy asus logo on the motherboard  :)

All good mate, some people don't realize it is only a 8x slot due to the manuals being a tad vague on the 16x ports.

Guess that's why the ROG board's put the sexy logo further down (I've got a Maximus VII Hero)..lol..
