EKWB Inwin 909-ek Hardline Build

Recommended Posts

Decided it was time for me to upgrade my current rig from dual 1070 to a single GPU. Since new hardware should be on the way this year my simple upgrade turned into a completely new system and I was instantly sold on the EK edition InWin 909 which also meant this system will need the watercooling to match. Dont have much to show currently, just started off getting the 'basement' runs sorted but wanted to get this thread started.

Case came in, no damage and its number 39 of 200. The build quality for sure justified the hefty price.

The case comes with metal cable combs to make passing through the chassis look as clean as possible. This was a huge plus to me over the singularity computers scepter which were integrated into the distribution plate.

Here are some good pictures of the case unboxed

PROGRESS TO COME!

Here is the poorly drawn plan for the front section. I’ve never used splitters before, it simplifies the runs in this area but I’m hoping it doesn’t cut down on the pressure going through the rads and they’ll be able to bleed fine.2316A0F4-8437-4612-BF46-B9FEF80DDB00.thumb.jpeg.ef6eeeff7f14cc374f3692947c4a5cd1.jpeg

got the first batch of fittings in aswell and started playing around with the runs 27715C96-C152-4DC7-8A2C-2E24E1D5325E.thumb.jpeg.ace440c8746ba0eb1d901f049161f5e4.jpeg

Wow, what an INCREDIBLE build... and that case, just... holy smokes! Thanks so much for sharing, and for all of the behind the scenes pictures... a very inspirational project! You've got something special there...

The case looks amazing! I can see you put a lot of work into the build!

However, i think the sheer amount of fittings and lack of bends make the build look a bit cluttered. I would also suggest spending some time on the wire routing.

Hi! If you ever need some structural, mechanical or electrical design/build help on your new rig, send me a PM and ill try and help you out!

Yea I need to fine tune the wiring especially the front io.....was just just eager to get it to boot and there wasn’t an easy way to hide the wiring. I also need to correct the 2 runs for the GPUs coolant. They should be parallel but I miss measured the length of the extension I needed. Wounded up 3D printing ekwb cad files I found online to just get the sizing right and ordered the proper size extension. The torque fittings are really bulky so it doesn’t help either, if I did it again I’d go with classic. The goal is to have the tubing all glass so I needed all fittings for any bend

Yeah i know what you mean. I cant wait to see it after you fine tune it, it should be awesome!

The fine tuning has occurred...minus the cables. I ordered sleeping to bundle the front io into on clean loom but it hasn’t come in yet. I swapped the color of the vue coolant to a redder color and corrected the angles of some of the runs so it’s all straight.1568B0D0-726C-4554-95EF-85218880B3C2.thumb.jpeg.85bb51614c4a83f745cf12f87515082d.jpeg

Looks great!

Did you install some fans (intake) between the boths radiators and how did you manage to connect the tubes (PETG or soft tubes) inside the Radiator chamber? Maybe you have a Picture?

I was looking at the first built pictures thinking "boy even though those crooked runs bug me a bit, it subtracts nothing from the awesomeness of this build..."

Then I scrolled down and saw the adjusted picture... its pretty much 10/10.

Well done dude! #goals

Is it at all possible to vertically mount the GPU?  Maybe not with it being inverted, but that can always help cover the lower ugly IO connectors and PCIE slots.
