A device which does not exist was specified. Any fix?

mintza

My internal SATA SSD 1TB was working absolutely fine until last afternoon, it doesn't show up in windows, and it says "A device which does not exist was specified". After several restarts, it somehow showed up and I managed to run "HDTunePro" to check for errors. Everything was fine from HDTunePro. Later it just disappears from windows again. I changed the SATA Slot, and it starts to work again. But now it stopped showing up again. What could be the reason? What could be the solution to fix this?

That's another one to add to my list of bo***cks windows errors.

If it's appearing and disappearing - check the windows event viewer, I'd expect to see errors that might give a clue as to why it's disconnecting (and thus where to poke next :) )
