Problem with asus strix rtx2080ti OC - no signal - buzzing sound

Hi All,

I just did my first hard tubed water cooling build. I finished this yesterday and leak tested it for 3 hours no leaks at all. Yesterday I played games and there was no issue at all. I had put paper in my computer for the night to check for leaks. This morning i checked for leaks, i didn't see any leaks. However, when i started my computer this morning a weird buzzing sound came from my graphics card accompanied with no signal. My computer can boot and I have signal via the mainboard HDMI connector, but my gpu isnt detected in the device manager. I checked my bios (maximus xi) and it doesn't detect my gpu. I also tried different cables from my psu to my gpu (power leds are white), no effect. I do run the gpu via a vertical mount bracket with a riser cable (which i use for the first time), could the cable/pcie slot bracket suddenly be causing this issue?

Do you guys have any tips?

Thanks

sounds like an issue with the riser cable most likely. Have you tried remounting everything with it?

Thanks a lot for your reply.

I did reconnect the riser cable in the pcie slot of my motherboard. however i did not remount my gpu in the riser bracket slot (as i need to drain my whole loop). So a faulty connection with riser cable/bracket to pcie slot on motherboard can cause the buzzing sound accompanied with no signal/detection of the gpu?

I will try to drain my water loop and remount my gpu in the slot. Can i troubleshoot without filling my loop again?
