Transferring an External Hardrive into an Internal Drive

Right i have a problem with one of my External Hard Disks over heating and Seagate are unwilling to do anything about it until the drive fails as they claim its functioning normally and i must be using it in a hot room.

 

The drive has gone as high as 57*c.

 

What i wanna do is to take out the 6TB hard disk and just put it in my PC as an internal but not sure if i'm gonna get any issues with reading the data on the drive as i did this before with a 6TB Samsung drive and found out that i couldn't read the partition without the controller card in external caddy so i had to backup all my data and then reformat the drive.

 

Will i have the same issue here and if so is there anyway around it?

Just try it.

Won't hurt regardless of file system as long as you don't try writing to it.

@wONKEyeYEs Why would i wish to put myself through the hassle of dismantling a drive to see if it will work with a possibility of failure when i can ask on here and hopefully get the answer this is the reason really this support forum exists.

Well one way that's the easiest but more costly that's to purchase a new internal drive and just put the data on it instead of having to mixter with it. but if u have knowledge u can do it the mixter way
