EVGA X1 closes during games

Precision X1 seems to randomly close during games without prompting or notifying me. I just find out after my gpu has cooked itself for a while.

Is this an issue for any of you? Any known fixes?

The 1.0.3 update has issues for some people on EVGA forum when I was having the issue. Mine resolved itself, I don't know how though. Downgrade to 1.0.2 if it worked then or use msi afterburner.

This has been a problem for me before and after the update.

I'm going to see if there is some game or thing in particular linked to it.

To my knowledge ftw3 models don't work with afterburner.

I want to see if there's a fix

Everytime I tried the evga's software it had crashes, even at the desktop.

Okay, I think I found the cause and solution.

I tried a few different games and scenarios to find out when it was crashing.

It seemed to crash whenever launching the UPLAY app for Rainbow Six Siege.

The Uplay App would also cause discord and some firefox tabs.

The solution was to go into Nvidia Control Panel, Manage 3D settings and turn off "Low Latency Mode". Restart the PC.

After that was done, no problems.

That's extremely weird and shouldn't really happen. I personally haven't experienced something like that and it seems kinda sketchy.

Well, you found a way around the problem, not really the solution since you disabled the "Low Latency Mode".

Anyway, I would suggest you do a fresh new installation of the latest EVGA version (or even replace it with another monitoring program out there).

Let me know if my answer helped you,

Vally.
