NEW Gamin/simulaton Rig suggestions

Hello Everyone looking for a suggestion here.I am planning on to assemble a Gamng/esxi machine.

CPU: AMD 3900x/3950x

MOBO:X570 Phantom Gaming-ITX/TB3

RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600) Desktop Memory Model F4-3200C16D-64GVK  

GPU: 2070/2080 Super

I already have a ssd and hdd from old machine to use.

Case:Fractal Design Node 202 Case+750W PSU

I want this to be as minimal as it can be in terms of space.

 

Looking for suggestions here or your feedback to how I should proceed.

Cut the RAM to 32gb and invest it in the GPU imo. you can always add more ram, but a gpu needs to be replaced outright.
From what I know those 32gb sticks may cause issues as well, I understand that it's an itx build, but smaller isn't better for the heat many of these components will output.

only need one for GPU rest is compute power needed ....plus mobo has TB3 so i can expand on some peripherals if needed

TL;DR it splits the ram bandwidth which kills CPU performance, and that's if your motherboard is compatible.

 

Using 1 ram stick will also kill CPU performance, there are some small form factor builds that use micro-ATX that are a bit bigger, but will get you the better cooling capacity and 4 ram slots for better performance. You'll save a lot more money as well for just a few inches of increased size.

 

For GPU, just get the most expensive one you can afford, and not a penny more.

Hey Thank you ... the only reason i chose Asrock X570 Phantom Gaming-ITX/TB3 AMD X570 AM4 Mini ITX was due to TB3 port on it, so i am a bit future proof in termos of expansion.

 

Also confused between 2080 super and 2080 ti ... its 20-30% performance bump what do you think ?

ahh that makes sense... i was just rying to make a portable+performance PC

that is the reason why i chose that mobo, having TB3 helps for expansion

Looks like will make another Windows VM on my system below for now and will just add a GPU .

32 GB RAM

1TB 7200 RPM HDD

300GB 10K RPM SAS drive

Nvidia K4000 GPU
