Purchased iTunes Song as ringtone?

I just purchased a song on itunes on my iphone xr thinking i could just set it as my ringtone. i remember this being an option in the past, or maybe im remembering being on android. but there is no ringtone version of this song, so this is my only option really. any ideas? its a brand new song, and i use spotify premium, so i definitely would not have purchased the song on itunes if i had known this wasnt an option.

you need to convert the song to an .m4a file, crop it to 30 seconds, rename it to .m4r, and then you can sync it using itunes to your phone.

You need to buy a Ringtone for direct use not a song. As said above I believe you can still download an app that'll let you crop it, store it as a file, plug it into your PC export the file to your PC, sync it back to the phone and you can use that. Wondered why I don't do that anymore XD
