Ha ha.

For peripherals, I prefer Leapfrog Global (no, not the children's electronic edutainment system brand) Armaggeddon series. Their MKA11R RGB Raptor Outemu Blue mechanical keyboard is great, Their Nuke 11 USB gaming headset which support 7.1 surround sound are pretty impressive, and their Starship III Gaming mouse is quite precise. It's cheaper than many competitors, and although they lack a lot of customisability, they did the job well.

Yes, it is "Armaggeddon", not Armageddon.

Logitech G502 flavors are my jam. They are available at 45-50€ range though Proteus models can go up to 100€ (not sure why tho). Maybe a bit more, but it's mouse on entirely different level. 16.000 DPI sensor at 400 IPS, metal wheel with selectable notched or free scrolling, on-board memory, DPI switch, profile switch, programmable keys all around, 3 side buttons, 2 side-top buttons, RGB, bunch of weights etc.

Only downside would be a bit vague middle click, but I don't use it anyway so I'm fine. This is actually my second one (G502 Proteus Spectrum) because I ruined my first one (G502 Proteus Core) while cleaning it because fuckers put screws under feet... It's one of best mice I've had and I'm gonna stick with it for as long as it exists.

I used the red dragon wired mouse that came free with my pre-built I bought before I knew anything about PC building...which was like a decade a ago.  I used that mouse until a year ago.  I did upgrade to the razer viper ultimate very recently but until right before then I was using G403 wired mice on all my setups (for about 1 year) because they had a great deal on amazon a little while ago (I think they were on sale for like 40 or 45?).

Regardless, the mid range mice are definitely where its at.  It is just like the car and biking world (and so many others).  Bare bones entry level will get you by, mid range tends to be where you truly get the best bang/buck and stellar performance, and top tier is fantastic but overpriced.  No different here, the mid range logitech are what I have most experience with (both g305- which we had at work and g403) and they are all anyone could need honestly.  Pretty much every sensor made in the last few years has WAY more DPI than anyone could need or want.  The extra features and weight savings of the top top (viper ultimate) are fine but not necessary.  Mid range all the way.

I don't really get what's going on with the mouse selections in this video. The Glorious Models O, O-, and D as well as the Cooler Master M710, 711, and Razer Viper Mini are all in the specified price range and should blow the mice in that roundup out of the water.

I understand that the Viper Mini probably wasn't out when this video was written and recorded but the others ones were.

Will there be a followup low weight mouse roundup or something?

Buy ReDragon M908 Impact RGB

LOL DON'T BUY IT

OK, I'll bite.

I have what appears to be the same mouse OEM of the dragon, but branded as the UTechSmart Venus MMO Gaming Mouse with a better 16400dpi sensor.  The software is odd, but it works well once you figure it out.  Unlike most of the others, it saves the customizations into the mouse itself (like my OLD Razer Naga used to) instead of to cloud software, so all the customizations and profiles are available on EVERYTHING you plug it into, not just a Windows system with their software on it.  Would love to see one of these put through your testing bench paces, as it still retains nice things like the weight system of the Red Dragon that you liked too.

I liked it so much, as did my wife, that we bought spares for when these die.  We've gotten them all on Amazon at varying times around $30 bucks US.  Performance has seemed great too with the poling rate turned up.  It also fit our hands better than either the new Nagas or the G600, which we tried first.

  • 1 month later...

SInce my Minos X5 is leaving glue behind it like crazy and double clicking I'm heading to a new mouse and brand. Was looking at Rival 310 but then I red that it's rubber side also come apart and spit glue.

Any suggestion you can make around that price tag? I'm ok with rubbers as long as they don't fall apart after 9 months or something.

Was also looking at Glorious, but it looks waay to lightweight for my likings, I gotta try it first tho lol.
