Asus Essence STX II BSOD

Hey, 

 

Hoping for some help on the matter. Since a recent update been getting more often BSOD maybe twice a day right now, sometimes it points to STXII.sys and sometimes it doesn't but i assume it is due to the soundcard

 

Drivers for the soundcard are up to date, and beyond taking it out and replacing it or getting a DAC i'm unsure what to do. I've checked my memory and no issues there, there is a slight overclock on CPU but thats just to allow all cores to turbo, could be causing the issue, but had the PC for 2 years and its only been recently having this.

 

Could it be hardware failure of the sound card rather than the software?

Small edit, it seems to be more on Chrome side when doing stuff.. not had it using Tidal or say gaming

I'd rip the soundcard out and see how she runs for a few days, remove the drivers as well.

 

Will at last possibly isolate the issue.  Once it's determined if it's the soundcard then you can decide how you proceed next.

I know it is the sound card, issue is i need it to power the sound system and onboard doesn't have that kind of power. Nor do i have the money to buy something new/ or to replace it.

 

I might have to start saving for a decent DAC as a replacement, got any ideas for a good one?
