I don't plan to stop, just feel 'emasculated' by the shear power that other's have with 1 card vs my 6 machines lol.

That happened with me, now I have FOLDATRON and my main rig which is far too overpowered for what I need but oh well.

Geez, that's crazy... My machines are no match for this then lol.

The power efficiency of those Turing GPUs is really impressive indeed BUT every bit of power the projects get is important. Doesn't matter if you contribute 10 or 100 work units, every WU counts ;)

My 2060 will pull in about 1.2-1.4M PPD at full tilt with no OC and it's a pretty bad 2060. Basically matching or surpassing a 1080ti. They truly are crazy cards.

Out of all the GPUs in FOLDATRON the 980 gets the WU... thanks F@H for that

Can someone help me with some Linux Folding setup?
I have a few machines I would like to get it running on.

I followed this guide, but I dont think it is running...
I can't tell lol. I doubt it based on fan level of the server.
Also, it does have a GPU in it but it doesn't seem to have picked it up.

Here's the config for it:

The last work unit I had was on my CPU and was Project 14400: "This project simulates several myosins found in the human body. Myosins are the proteins responsible for most of the force generated by the body, from the contraction of muscles to the movement of materials around the cell. Although superficially similar, myosins actually differ substantially in their properties and distribution in the body. This project is studying those differences, especially the differences in speed and power. We are especially interested in how this might help us understand diseases that result from defects in myosin, including Usher syndrome and, esp..."

Prior work unit I had was actually labelled COVID-19 and ran on my GPU so it seems it's luck of the draw as to what you get and what it runs on.

As we speak, the FOH team is rolling out new servers to meet the increasing demand on WUs. Seems they already managed to get idle times between WU allocation down to 15-20 minutes from 15-20 hours(!).

I've got mine back up and running CPU on medium duty till the Le Grand Macho RT comes in on Thursday. My case doesn't have a CPU socket access hole on the motherboard tray soooo I have to pull the board out of it, thankfully that's not too hard just annoying so I'll do my best not to procrastinate. I couldn't ID the issue with the GPU folding errors so I re-installed the latest AMD drivers and I'm letting it run 100% how it came out of the box to see what happens when it gets work. Currently 140W of Zen+ working away, once I get the heat sink it'll be 180W of Zen+ working away and hopefully another 220W of Vega10 XL. If I can figure out how to stuff my Polaris XT in there I'll have that going as well, not sure it can fit with the thicc Vega 56 Nitro+ and the RX 580 is a thicc Red Devil too. I'll get my ITX cube running with the 580 otherwise.

Would a Xeon X3470 be worth it? It's water cooled and I can run it at 3.8ghz consistently with high speed 2133 DDR3. I don't have a GPU to go with that.

Did last I looked.  Nvidia 900 series had their own driver section on Nvidia page.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

HMM but then I'd never get a WU!

I'll probably end up forgetting to do it tbh as its 0104 and I dont fancy dealing with it now...
