Sorry new to this forum and folding plus I'm an old fart and didn't realize it's your data sheet.  Wasn't meant as a complaint.  I had planned to use this new computer to replace my old dieing one but I've decided to use it just for folding.  I wasn't even planning on putting a video card in it but I dedicated it to folding as long as the old one holds up..  New video card shows up tomorrow hope it isn't crap LOL!

As I said originally I don't really care about points and I can see what I think is the real number in the web control panel so I know it's working and I'm not worried about barely 500K internet points.

I don't care about the points!  My web control panel shows what I think is the correct number which is only 500K so at least I know it's working and I just done thinking about this.

Haha, fair enough!    To be honest, I don't really care about keeping close track, I just make sure I do what I can to keep the machines fed and that HFM is catching it all.  I'm not even in the competition, so I'm just doing this because what else am I gonna do while I'm sitting around working from home?

I went into my DTE Insight setup, I barely had to estimate anything since it breaks down power use by minute if I want.  But using daily amounts, on average I use 920W (22kWh/day).  The last two weeks I've been using 1.75kW (42kWh/day)...  A solid 53% increase, or 830W difference.  That's lower than I thought, but I guess assuming the CPUs were all drawing 200W as well as the GPUs is unrealistic.

Welp... my foldinator didn't arrive till today. Tomorrow is a Red Letter Holiday in Hungary and my newer workstation (4 Gigabyte Aorus 1080 Ti waterforce) will spend an aditional 4 days in shipping... Still folding on my Main GamingRig (8700k+1080 mini), and my Asus G752vy is doing it's best... Atleast there is so few downtime when I do not recive any WorkUnits... But a day before yesterday was only a CPU hitting day... I hope that I will crack 6 mill till tonight.

I had meant to use about $300-$400 to buy a cheap 4k tv to use as a monitor and just use the CPU's GPU.  Instead I spent ~$500 and just realized I might have to buy a bigger power supply.  Since Linus is always talking about and using Asus stuff I bought one of their motherboards for my new computer so I went with one of their cards and Best Buy had this one and shipped it fast.  Gets here tomorrow, supposedly!

I'm old and retired so I guess I got so spend money on something, might as well help out if I can!  Maybe I'll just sell the card when this stuff is over and still get a monitor.

Measured my exhaust air temps for lulz on either side of my fan and got 40 C and 46 C for CPU and GPU respectively.  Toasty! If I take the panel off and wait a while there's a nice warm block of air about 2-3 ft in front of that fan.

They are superior in some ways though...

Unless you care about AURA Sync RGB there is no advantage to use Asus graphics cards over other brands. MSI are great too and a bit cheaper.

In Task Manager, end FAHclient and FAHcontrol processes. Start FAH normally (web control) and wait like 30 seconds. If FAHclient doesn't start up, start it manually form the program folder. If that doesn't help, restart whole system.

Kindles have their place, but in my bedroom/on the sofa isnt it.

 

When I was cycling to uni I used to have all my textbook on a kindle, was a massive advantage.
