If people fold for the competition who otherwise would not have folded at all then isn't it still a positive gain even if they stop folding after the competition ends?

Also in addition to this the Northern Hemisphere will soon be going in to summer weather when a lot of people wind back or stop folding.

There was a competition? Ah foey.

No thanks for the heads up.

I just checked again today and it seems to be 12 hours behind. As well my actual cost per P100 instance is 2.32$/h x 2. So that means 3 1/2 days total. Good thing I checked.

Is it expected to have WU's fail with "Bad State Detected" after switching to Advanced mode? I hadn't experienced a single failure like that before switching to Advanced, but now I've seen 3 WU's fail so far.

I think overall it's still better than without the Advanced flag, because I'm getting so many more work units assigned, but maybe there's something I can do to minimize failures?

I'm not overclocking or anything, and the GPU sits at max °75C..

This is what I see on the log:

Yeah that's the point of the advanced and to a greater extent beta, it's not sure they won't fail. That seems like a lot of fails though. See what project it was, some are known for flakiness especially with AMD cards.

Was the project number 14541 and are you using an AMD GPU ?

I just checked the logs for the last couple of days and I actually found 9 failed Work Units between saturday and today. 6 of them seem to be for 14541 and the other 3 I can't figure out the project ID - the logs are weird.

Any way to ignore project 14541?

And yes, I'm using AMD GPU - Radeon RX 570.

Project 14541 does not like AMD GPUs for some reason. Everyone has been having problems with it. I had a 50/50 shot of it working.

i think for nvidia GPUs this project has no issues (or i just lucky with it)

Competition is healthy. If there wasn't competition, there would only be stagnation as nobody would feel the need to push harder.

I feel like I did some damage to one of the muscles in my right arm the other day, doing anything sends little shoots of pain through a single line going from wrist to elbow

If you are in isolation how did you hurt your right arm muscle? Nevermind I don't wanna know.
