What happened I am a bit confused please explain?

Yesterday, someone noticed some of their points were shifted to the Grammar Nazis. Of Course I had to point this out:

And now my points are going to them too. It's a conspiracy.

Project 14541 keeps reporting bad projects from my Vega64 as well.. Temperatures are nice and cool as I've watercooled the GPU/Memory on it. Running it stock vs overclocked doesn't seem to make a difference. If anything a little overclock is making it a bit more reliable (especially on the memory). I'm going to stop the CPU (8700k) folding as it doesn't provide much in comparison. If that works then I'll limit how many threads it can use for folding.

It looks like I might not hit the 10 days of activity requirement. I've had F@H running 24/7 for my GPU, but 4 out of 9 days I haven't gotten any points at all.

I've yet to error on any of the 14541, (currently chomping (0, 208, 34)) with a 2070S. Maybe it's an AMD incompatibility?

Are you getting WU's? The servers are overloaded as far as points are concerned

I haven't been getting many WUs that I've noticed. How do I check historic data?

well the Noctua 2k at full boar is bad...if its off or at 1500 its bearable but i have 2 systems supprising ly the mag lev fans are quieter than the rest of the computer yeah one day i may do a custom loop but that would need some masive radiators and another case...but i like how the CPU heatsink has like 1 MM to spare...so it alone forces alot of the air to the back.

and it used to have the cables i tossed them 2 years ago by accident thinking i didnt have it any more to find it im my dads old inspiron 630 chassis 3 months ago when i was clearing the skeletons out of the closet. it was a "sleeper i built him with a intel i7-2600 to replace his Q6600 he had in it. and needed a real psu

Yea the cpu heat sink for my i5 is the same way, I understand buying something big is technically a waste thermally but when it forces more air threw the over all system temp benefits.

When I was looking at water cooling for my new build I could have gotten a 360mm unit (would have giving me a 480mm radiator space for cooling) but after reading the setup for it it was too much of a hassle including looping it out and decided to go with a 280mm instead, I equally should have looked at the cases specs closer, could have thrown a 140mm on the back instead of the 120 I have now, oh well live and learn.

Aren't replacement cables cheap tho? Pre-done cable mods are $30 or something. Also got my 3800x temps under control sitting at a cool 63/64C (full load) but now it's not boosting at all 😂 Oh joy... AMD glad you have not changed... Next attempt in 3 hours or if I can figure my way around Ryzen Master...

I'm pretty sure that's it as well, but if I can increase the odds of success. I just uploaded a successful project to them, but it has failed a few before. It likes to fail when I'm not actively using the computer as well. We'll see.

My electricity billing just transitioned from Tier 1 (CA$0.094/kW hour) to Tier 2 (CAD$0.14 / kW hour) 😞 Baseline power consumption is usually just under 400 watts. Folding baseline is 2.4kW! Cost for folding from this moment (8:30am PDT) until the end of the sprint will be CAD$35.98. I thought it might be interesting to break this down a bit.

As PPD changes, overall estimated GPU efficiency is 34,906 GFLOPS using 810 watts = 43.09 GFLOPS/watt. Turning off the 390X would improve this to 51.01 GFLOPS/watt.

Estimated GPU GFLOPS per watt while folding:

2080 Super @ 2,040 GHz - 52.22

2070 @ 1,890 GHz- 49.77

1070 @ 1,974GHZ - 50.53

390X @ 1,080 GHz - 24.83

CPU package power consumption while folding:

3800X @ 4.2GHz - 121w

i7-4790K @ 4.2GHz - 83w

i7-2600K @ 4.3GHz - 90w

FX-8350 @ 4.1GHz- 43w

Interestingly the GPU + CPU power consumption comes in at 1.147kW of the 2kW being consumed. Considering the 2kW excludes monitors, and storage is all SSD, and the worst power supply is 85% efficient, I am very perplexed at where 853 watts for four desktops "system power excluding GPU and CPU" is going. Even assuming all the PSUs were only 85% efficient, that works out to about 138 watts per system for motherboard, RAM, SSDs, and system fans - which doesn't make sense. There must be something other than the PCs pushing up the household base load indicated on the power meter. (No, the 'fridge isn't running, etc.)

something great happened in the last 12hrs, I was pulling about 600kppd [can do about 1.1m but bad work units, lack of wu kept me down], but this morning says I've gotten 37 wu's done and 1.4m points, and just finished another 2 for about another 125k

Not at this latitude - it's 6°C outside right now and the furnace isn't running. It will be interesting to check the household baseline on April 11th with all the PCs off - I suspect the four PCs are not actually consuming 2kW. Although, I have directly measured the FX8350 / 390X system (excluding monitor) consuming 474 watts running Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Measured the same way, the 3800X / 2080 Super consumes 383 watts.

Advanced WU's are almost out of beta and relatively stable WU's. You just opened your client up to a bigger pool.
