Is anyone else having problems with their work units not making into updates? Neither EOC nor the F@H stats site show the amount of points/WU I expect based on the logs

No, it's just you - JK

Everyone is seeing this. Just sit back and enjoy the ride. We are breaking their stats servers. They will fix them eventually but are focused on getting the new Work Servers on-line first

That's for Nvidia really, I've not seen any real change with my 5700xt with my Ryzen paused, it has dropped a whooping 8 seconds per TPF... I can't really see pausing or lowering me core count would actually be beneficial to both my points and over assistance in folding.

Note: For me that is from 59 to 51 seconds

Run a test, run both in full load for about 15-30 minutes then pause the cpu, give it about 5-10 minutes and see how much faster the TPF becomes (lower=better), if you lose more than a few seconds (like me) then try lowering the core count by:

FAHControl>Configure>Slots>CPU>Edit> change the -1 in the cpu section to all but 2 cores for your cpu and rerun the test. Find the best balance for your computer and maximize your PPD/support :)

Note: while typing this my GPU jumped from 59 to 1 minute 9 seconds for no apparent reason and has since gone back to 59 seconds.

on my 1700 it makes a large difference but it is an all in one

on my 2600 (Bender) it made about a 10-20 seconds per fold improvement on the gpu and the increase in tpf for the cpu was like +5-10 seconds so all in all was a win win.

on my 5700xt it makes almost no diffrence but it is a 24 thread processor and normally bumps down to 21 cores any ways.

on bender since i got the nvidia card i have dropped it by 4 cores and still gets better than on my server with is running on 9 cores due to my security cams not agreeing to sharing load.

Mate, that's a bit high for 2080 Super, it will bring you a lot of bad/failed WUs as well as crashes. I can run my 2080 Super above 2100 CC but that is not stable for current folding@home WUs. You'd be better running stock or low OC (up to +50 CC). Beta WUs were failing even at +50 CC on my card tbh. Advanced were okay at up to +75 CC but everything above that is huge NO-NO if you want your PPD stable and high.

Actually, we should think about our points but not in that way... Look at it this way: More points, more bragging rights but more importantly, MORE power for F@H (faster cures).

My 2080 Super is happily folding at 2,055 MHz at 52°C, which drops to 2,040 at 54°C. As most of the case fans are dependant on CPU temp, folding on the CPU gets faster folding on the GPU 😜 I can't get a stable 2,100 ever with the 2080 Super, but RAM overclocks like crazy. I'm using a lower-end model, the Gigabyte Windforce OC.

Im ussing the Evga 2080 Super XC 2.75 slot. I technically run at 2095 MHZ at 38°C max fans, 117% power. with a "pocket" pc. GPU is in the wide open air. Im pretty sure i got one of the rare higher clock capable system. luck of the draw i guess. Its Great

I've added an interesting piece of hardware to my folding farm. This is a Phoenix Contact PPC-5319 Panel PC from 2004. It rocks a "Banias" Pentium M with 1.6 GHz crammed through a 400 MHz FSB. It's also got 512 MB of RAM and a 30 GB Maxtor hard drive and a fresh copy of Windows 7 32-bit. Not bad for a company that also makes hammers. Where my Ryzen 7 2700 is estimated to rake in 150,000 points a day, it seems this beauty will bring in about 59. Efficient in any way? No. Really cool? Yes.

It picked up work right away, so I guess there are some WU's optimized for a 32-bit glorified toaster.

Has anyone else looked at their electricity consumption since this sprint began?

1) Ryzen 3800X, X570, 64GB DDR4-3600 CL16, RTX 2080 Super (GPU estimated GFLOPS: 12,534, estimated PPD: 2.2M)

2) i7-4790K, Z97, 32GB DDR3-2400 CL11, RTX 2070 (GPU estimated GFLOPS: 9,354, estimated PPD: 1.5M)

3) i7-2600K, Z68, 16GB DDR3-1866 CL9, GTX 1070 (GPU estimated GFLOPS: 7,200, estimated PPD: 800K)

4) FX-8350, AMD 970, 16GB DDR3-1866 CL10, R9 390X (GPU estimated GFLOPS: 6,195, estimated PPD: 300K)

With the monitors off, pulling about 1.7 kW for these four PCs. It's probably pretty stupid to be folding with the 390X (PPD/Watt), but my son's been doing some gaming on the RTX 2070, so I need to regain some ground.

on my Intel/Nvidia computer I can't fold on the cpu at all else my computer becomes a useless brick to do anything else on so I know the feeling. Each computer is different even with the same cpu/gpu based on each persons use of the computer. If I dropped one or two cores it should help the gpu, but it also comes down to the wu as well, the new one I got has my gpu posting a 1 minute 45 second TPF time. My program auto selected 15 so I set it to 13 and my UPS whined about overdraw 🤣 but then again it is going to 4.3 vs sitting at 4.1ghz. I'll leave it like this for 30 minutes but I can't see it changing anything but my CPUs temp (by a whopping 1F, my cpu is sitting at 89F under full load, water cooled I looked it up and apparently these things naturally run hot) and my UPS whining about overdraw as the cpu keeps trying to draw more power...

Currently it is sitting at a +5 second loss for cpu and -10 second gain, with the annoyance of a ups beep every 1-2 minutes for the cpu trying to get to max boost...
Second thought screw it that beep is going to drive me up the wall...

Nice! I tried with a AMD E240 but that thing was too bad for anything! Also tried with a old Atom, better but still nahh... The oldest computer what Im running is a Intel E2160, but was a bit too slow for F@H so that one is running Roseta@home with BOINC now :)

47 WU worth just 387,000 compared to the 38 WU that brought in 1,540,000

Today sucked shiny metal ass.  Especially compared to yesterday.  I know lots of other folks saw the same type of results - but still, wtf?  <sob>

Goose eggs for most of the day.

Yeah, mine isn't looking so hot either.... :(

That's okay though, still happy to be contributing to a possible cure.

Damn, I got hit hard with some of my WUs not counting, only said I did 124k 😳 I’ve been showing periods of middle of the night not counting a thing.

I could be mistaken.

also anyone ever get a collection server listed as 0.0.0.0?

Looks like everyone had the same!
Sending out smaller tasks to keep everyone going perhaps?

I was just pondering what the total cost of all the hardware being used by the 51,000 active team members would be. It's has to be mind blowing.

The guts of my workstation are an i7-6700K and RTX 2080 Ti

The guts of my folding server are dual Xeon X5687 3.6GHz chips with soon to be dual GTX 970's

I have 3 other ESXi servers running with 16 threads crunching CPU WUs
