I believe @Gorgon said that it is useful for determining relative performance, so a 980ti should be twice as fast as a 780ti.

edit

sorry typo.    it is    name=next-unit-percentage v= 99. i should also mention the vale for the percentage can only be set as low as 90%

Tyvm. 980ti it is then.

I'm so used to my PC making a constant load fan hum that it's weird when it goes quiet on me. I'm like, Uhhh, where'd the noise go? 😆

For me I notice it when it starts getting colder in the room. My workstation that's also folding is the only source of heat that I need to heat the entire room. Pulls over 500 Watts from the wall.

I'm imagining you sitting in the middle of a cabin in the woods with good utilities going "c'mon F@H I need some WUs. I'm starting to freeze my butt off in here!" while warming your hands on the case.

It's not unrealistic at all lol, all of my cases are warm to the touch.

R5 3600, 5700 XT, AX370 K7...  and that's plenty for me.  If you ignore the masses of other parts I occasionally put together and laugh about.

I added two fans to my room to help deal with the heat lol

Last night when the weather got nice I ran the bathroom fan (a good one that actually moves air) and opened my bedroom window.  Got it down to 71.5F from the 77F it started at by the time i closed it.  Got nice and cozy-cool in here.

I've been looking around at several different charts like this, and none of the nvidia Quadro line are listed. Ive got the Quadro RTX 8000. Is this not necessairly as good as a 2080ti for folding?

That spreadsheet used to be a lot more useful when you could see all the data and not just the summary so you could see what project and clocks the individual data points were running at.

Honestly unless your just plain nostalgic about 980Tis or want to SLI with your current I's not spend any money on Kepler but get a lower-end Turing like the 1660ti. I can vouch that the datapoint on that spreadsheet for the 166Ti at 565kPPD is way off. Mine's been getting 635kPPD to 890kPPD with the average being 780kPPD over the last 7 days.

I think it's just because relatively few people are using Quadros. The Quadro should be faster for these kinds of workloads, at least that's what I think.

You might want to exit the client from the icon in Task Manager Then relaunch it from the start menu to make sure. You will revert to the last checkpoint and so lose 5-15m work but not the whole WU.

Then it should take but you won't see any change until the next WU.

BTW - there are no more BigAdv, that was an older CPU group. Just Beta, Advanced and Default.

In light of recent heated disagreements between myself and @Gorgon, I regretfully announce my resignation from the LTT folding team.

Henceforth, I will be folding for EVGA's team. I will finish up these last WUs for LTT and then switch.

Sorry for any inconvenience this causes.

For those interested in the details, you can read my full resignation letter: https://folding.den-fi.com/foldingresignationletter.html

THIS WAS AN APRIL FOOL'S JOKE. I'm not going anywhere!

Can anyone tell me if I set this correctly? I'm wanting it to download the next WU when it is 90% complete with the current one...This is for the GPU slot. Thanks!

keep in mind that it can drastically affect your score if you have WUs for an extended amount of time before you can work on them
