Temperatures on the upper card were in the high 80s, low 90s. Hmm it appears Gigabyte has an over-optimistic fan profile. 87C and running at 40% fan - Really. Cranked the fan profile and away we go.

 

Going to run it on Windows to see what they can do there and tomorrow start trying to get them to work under Linux.

Oh so THAT'S why two of mine have suddenly gone idle!

At least the E350 has two cores, the E240 is not XD (but kudos to make that game run there!)

I decided to set up one of my older PCs for folding. Can someone tell me which parts of the Nvidia driver install I should install for optimum performance without any unnecessary bloat? Like, does Folding benefit from the PhysX software, 3D Vision or GeForce experience?

My first laptop was uh...  a PowerBook G4.  It was my dad's work machine until he bashed a door with the exposed hinge (what a stupid ass design choice that was) and severed the display cable, fried the GPU.  I think it was some form of ATI, but couldn't tell you which.

 

Replaced the hinge, the display cable, the logic board.  Then discovered that one of the clips that held in the RAM was busted, so a rubber band held it in.  On that model, the keyboard had clips you could undo with no tools to access the ram slots, so when the system would freeze, I'd pop the keyboard out, push the ram stick back in and restart lol.  My highschool friends thought I was a nut.

You don't need PhysX, 3D Vision (wasn't that removed in some driver update?) or GeForce Experience.

You can some-what control what size of projects you will get with adding a flag like:

Name:                      Value:

max-packet-size       small       Configures the slot to get small WUs (~5MB)
max-packet-size       normal       Configures the slot to get normal WUs (~10MB)
max-packet-size       big       Configures the slot to get big WUs (~500MB)

i have beat my all time high for one day lol with 6hrs to spare well with 9 lol as i had it beat at the 3pm check but eoc didnt pull it lol

No, and I'm not exactly sure of the parameters that it stays within but, all the slots I have set to "big" have been getting around ~250MB (the smallest being 130MB).

Am I the only one seeing that the FAH userstats has been frozen for a few days, and that extreme overclocking stats hasn't updated since about 7-10 hours ago?  I have logs telling my work was completed but no update to WU on overclock since this AM.

That WU is doing something with the oxy receptor in the brain and uses some really funky math so periodically it hits a bunch of instructions that have to go to the CPU and will peg your CPU. I'm guessing AVX.

I'm running one now on one of my new 5700XTs and the chassis is benched beside me. The fans sping at 4000 rpm (it's on the upper card and so is getting cooked by the card under it) the every 5 minutes or so the fans spin down to 2700rpm for a minute or so then ramp back up.

 

Try either leaving more threads available for the OS on your CPU or if your overclocking you CPU and/or GPUs remove the overclocks. You could also try an AVX offest on Intel.

Not thrilled about today... Looked through the error log and other than no wu no errors

 

Prob wont hit the min criteria to make this a viable day even though been getting WU all day and my system has been crunching them...

Umm - Fresh install of Windoze 10 Home 64 1909?. Newest Adreneline Drivers. Install FaH. Turn up the Fan Profile - running for a couple of hours under Windows and almost finished the first batch of WUs.
