Go to solution Solved by GOTSpectrum,

This event has ended and I recommend you guys head over to the Folding Community Board for any general folding conversation.

well mine sits idling most of the time anyway . but now im thinking of also folding on my work notebook since currently i work through it on a  citrix remote client anyway so the stress  on themachine is also minimal  and i should get something out of it even though it canthold  upwith  my personal rig. maybe ill leave that  running while im  at work

I'm discussing the use of my remote server (websites, personal git, irc, nextcloud and stuff) with the rest of the users to throw at folding... 8 Xeon E5-2670 v3 Cores are not much but might help as well.

My "Gaming" Rig:
i5-9600k
RTX2070 Super
Three tier storage (nvme, SSDs, HDD)
Used for coding, gaming, photo and video editing.

GOGOGOGO! Do you have docker running there? There is a super simple, stable and awesome docker for FAH!

FOLDING MONTH 2021! GOGOGO and save on some heating costs 🙂

They are having an issue getting passkeys out because so many people are doing this that they are being reported as spam.

I haven't gotten passkey as of 10:30pm last night.

Ok, then I´m not the only one. Is It normal that I´m not seeing more than 2-5% GPU load while currently running a Project?

I wonder if I would be able to get a second GPU to be able to Fold in my computer. It's a GT 1030, runs off of slot power. I know I have the headroom in my PSU. I went overkill on it because the thing was on sale and I wanted to future proof after having a 2nd hand 650W explode on me.

Luckily, the boom didn't take any of my other hardware with it. Though the poor little GT 630 I had bought originally met its demise about 6 months ago. I thought it took one of my PCIE slots with it but it still works.

Holy crap have you seen this? Two weeks ago we were doing less than 200M. Our more recent normal has been around 160-175M PPD.

As far as I know, you are able to use multiple GPUs regardless or type. Not sure of mix of Nvidia & AMD though.

I have an old 970 in my wife's PC that I thought about throwing in mine with my 980ti to add some extra hrspwrs to the rig.

It would be same manufacturer (both MSI (and Nvidia) cards, and I believe both Factory OCd). So I may as well try it. I have another port on my monitor I could plug it into. Really don't feel like unplugging and lifting my rig. She hit that point of heavy with the new card that makes it a bummer to pick it up. lmao

You don't really need to plug it into you monitor. You would just need to install it into your spare PCIe slot and the F@H software will recognise the GPU as another "folding device" with another slot that you would be able to select/fold with. No SLI or extra setup needed.

Hey all, I used to fold way back with my Nvidia 8800.  I'm glad to help out anyway I can with my i7-8700 and GTX 1070.

Like others I'm also waiting for WUs for CPU but GPU has been going well.

I do notice that even on full F@H only uses at most 45%  is that normal?

These images are from my web browser. When I click on CPU tab, the numbers for both are pitiful. When I'm on the GPU tab, the numbers look pretty good (considering I'm on an FX-4350, MSI 970A-G43, GTX 1650 Super, 16GB ~2000MHZ RAM (CL11? I don't remember off the top of my head)). Anybody know why the disparity is there?

Edit: Sorry for the nightmode users, just scrolled over it and burned my own retinas.
