Yeah I had several cyber power UPS’s (5-6) of various sizes at Yazoo brewing Company(one of the companies I support) when they were downtown (talking about shitty power) all of them died within three years and replaced Under warranty thank God. But when We moved we bought all new APC units. And they’ve been used twice once because I pulled the plug oops wrong plug. and once because we actually had a power outage.

As in Yazoo MS?

Just got a Google Cloud Compute vm set up and running for some extra PPD. There's no way I will place very high on the list, but who cares. It's felt great just knowing that I'm contributing to stopping this pandemic, even though I'm not rich or a genius scientist. I just wish there was some magical way to solve all the server problems and not have to micromanage the client to avoid not getting WUs and having downtime.fah1.thumb.png.40533261d2d675fab1bda12f53783103.pngfah2.thumb.png.07614145d26a43aeae5f4db801bf6383.png

Well I guess I don't need my GPU to make good progress... Holy Moly has anybody else seen this before? It's just a 3900X and normaly it makes about 300k PPD not 1 million.  I can have more of that stuff 😅

Tbh, can't remember. When you start, they give you $300 credit. I followed this guide on the forum. I think I calculated it would burn through it in about 9 or 10 days. Unfortunately I don't have the means to keep running it after the credit is up, but figured I wasn't going to use the free credit for anything else so why not this.

Canada Computers has the 1300VA (900W) pure sine-wave Cyber Power units on sale regularly. Though I'm rather fond of Eaton/PowerWare 9000-series units and we use them in a lot of the LAN closets at work they're a little dear for home use.

Glad to see another Eaton fan :)

Use 9130-3000 with network module myself, great units if you're prepared to go with used/decommissioned.

Today has been a really rough day. Hard to catch any WU's, even with watching and pausing/unpausing it for quite some time. It's all for a good cause, but no way reaching anything close to top 250 or so which was my target at least at the end of the event. Hoping for a better experience the next days, since it seems to be more a question of luck then of constant work right now.

Im with ya there.  Day 1 was back to back chonky-boy WUs.  Today has been a funny mix of smaller WU's, downtime, or these weird ones that are larger than usual (taking 3 hours to complete for as many points as a 1-1.5hr WU).

But in the end, its for a great cause, and the points dont truly matter :)

Do you have Spectrum? And if so have you had any issues with it? I haven't had any except when I had them install Gig. But a ton of people are always complaining.

Nope, i have Gigabit Fios :)

When I had cable it was still Adelphia and every time we got rain the cable went out. Boy it was fun when one of their guys tried to make a snide comment about "at least you dont have satellite, that would definitely go out" Thing was, I did have Dish Network for TV at the time, and it worked fine in every storm, their cable didnt

Nice, unfortunately the large ones at work they dispose of have asset tags so they have to go out to auction though I'd love to find out who is buying them. I have 3 750VA 9125s and they're a little too small at 450W for a CPU and 2 GPUs. They work but are technically over-limit. If you need newer firmware for the Network Cards PM me
