Just the lack of WUs from the server

Great. I should have known that was the real issue, but still never hurts to be sure by checking with people with more experience. Thanks.

So, I remembered I had a GTX960 sitting in my closet just waiting for a rainy day so to speak, so I tossed it in my system since I have plenty of power to spare on my PSU. Well now the 960 is getting work units but the GTX1080 isn't. Noticed two things in the logs. First seems to be likely the problem with my 1080, but should the other message about the 960 worry me?

WARNING:WU02:FS02:Failed to get assignment from '18.218.241.186:80': No WUs available for this configuration

01:23:08:WU01:FS01:0x22:Temperature control disabled. Requirements: single Nvidia GPU, tmax must be < 110 and twait >= 900

My GT 1030 shows the same message from time to time, but is working fine, of course that GPU really don`t use to much power even at full load, 65 Cº is the hoitter it has even got.

My A8 5600K is basically doing a CPU WU for FAH and Rosetta@home right now since Seti is starting to dry a bit by the looks of it.

Yeh, I was quite :( when Seti announced the wind-down,have been part of it since day 1 (remember the original green dish/telescope icon, on a lowly P200MMX (top of the line at the time  LOL !).

I've paused the seti project  to let it get on with Covid stuff, deadlines on the Seti units are a week away so plenty of time to get through them.

I started with seti@home back in 2009 with an Athlon+ 64 3200 and shortly after with an Intel E2180 and the GeForce 9600 GSO :)

But thinking in my first multimedia machine... that one was a AMD K6... maybe was a good thing what I didn`t knew Seti@home back them... that processor would cook itself XD

Edit: and indeed, a shame about seti.. hopefully we will see some nice papers and progress with the results analysis!

Yeah, it's running at around 75ºC, which I believe is a little on the warm side for a 960 but not enough to be worried.

Have it been repasted, a 900 series card can start to see some issues with the TIM at their age

Hmm, not a bad idea. I may do that tomorrow. For now, I finally got 3 WUs to process. Woo! 😁

The first message is just that the assigment servers is overloaded and cant direct you to a Work Server to get a job for the GPU

The Second Message is just listing the requirement for the GPU and refer to how fast that class of GPU can process a Work Unit.

Nothing to worry about

What platform? I've been trying to get GPU passthrough working on my ESXi host for a few days now with zero luck.

Proxmox, Getting a code 12 in windows atm even though it was outputting to a display earlier when I first setup the VM.
No idea if it's just my user error or there's some setting that wasn't in the documentation.

Wouldn't be such a big deal if my main machine would actually GPU fold without just locking up - unless I switch off my monitor for whatever reason.

Seeing as I'm stuck in Quarantine for the next two weeks with 3 teens and she-that-must-be obeyed and work has required me to work overtime remotely I've just ordered a PowerColor Red Dragon 5700XT and a Gigabyte tri-axial RX 5700XT from the Egg and paid the extra for express shipping.

I wanted 2 of the Red Dragon's but tho the egg said there was a limit of 2 it removed one at checkout.

Time to work on how to get the 5700XTs folding under Ubuntu 18 😁

Nice!

NewEgg charged my Credit Card at 5pm so I though for sure I'd be SOL for getting them shipped until next week but just got notification that UPS has picked them up and they're on their way ETA Monday.

I guess when you pay an extra $20 for priority shipping they go to the top of the queue.
