To the guys talking about the linus server, it is not a WU assignment server, it is used as an accept server, this is the one that you upload your finished work onto.

And to those wondering, no you cannot force your client to only communicate with that server, you have to go get assigned from the assignment servers, (that is the two on the top of stats page, labeled in white background)

On a sidennote, it seems they have upgraded server software to 9.6, so something has changed.

https://apps.foldingathome.org/serverstats

Just because it says the server is in accept mode right now doesn't mean that's its only job. The new Oracle server was in accept mode earlier today while it was being rolled out, it is now in assign mode. We will see it become an assigning server in the next few days after it is stocked with WUs.

Thanks. Ill try that if/when my -600 core clock fails.

What I've found is that setting clock speeds achieved with lowering power limit, to the same speeds without lowering power limit... Doesn't change power usage or folding power. If that makes sense. I'd strictly stick with lowering power limit and calling it good. Just from my limited experience so far though.

Not an assignment server, a work server. Assignment servers are different

That would be @Den-Fi

@Gorgon is just as mental

Come to think of it, it would've been cool if I hadn't sold off all my mining hardware.

Actually I'm realizing... I would've crushed his PPD. No kidding. :D

This event really makes me feel awful for leaving my old Ryzen 1700X in it's box. Perhaps I should get a motherboard so it can fold on it's own... 🤔

Some of he guys vent full ham last folding month, with above 40M PPD, so some of them have lost to give still, if they can and will.

Dont forget you need a GPU... a 2060 would do nicely!

My main rig is a 3600 with a 5700XT which is cranking in points nicely. The second one is an old Athlon A10 7700K with a GTX 660. Was thinking maybe dragging that 660 into the 1700x build. Got SSD's and spare DDR4 somewhere I just don't know how many points a 1700X would gain us daily

Yeah. I still have two 2080s, two 2080 Tis, and a 5700 XT.

I just can't fire everything up because I'm not home to monitor.

After digging though my office for random bits, stealing from other systems, sacrificing some parts from a planned ebay part ITX build I started, but had no case for and a little 3D printing and zip ties to fill in the gaps of a makeshift body on a monitor stand, this abomination what brought online.

When powered, its first words to me were "What is my purpose?" and I said "To fold for LTT!", and that is what it is doing ever since...

Meet Creaser, the spare part folding bot!

I'm going to fire up a p3.16xlarge AWS instance (64 cores/8 Tesla V100 GPUs/488GB mem) some time this weekend once the new work servers get online.  Current spot pricing is $7.344/hr.  Made me think that a gofundme for something like that might be cool.  Even just a few bucks from the thousands of people that are contributing here would go a long way...

Humm...

About 75 % of the time is spent waiting on work assignments Even with pausing and restarting to lower the check time.
