My system is fairly close to those specs and I get WU's intermittently on my main battlestation....However I have my side PC I loving call B***h Stewie with an FX-6300 and an rx470 4gb that seems to always have CPU and GPU work. Both are registered with the same passkey, I wonder if that is having an effect on how my work is being distributed. I also have the feeling that both machines MIGHT be getting the same amount of work, my main rig just finishes quicker.

I know they will target the size of the task to the level of compute power as that makes basic sense. But, it is not limited, if they have GPUs asking for WUs they will get assigned one even if it isn't optimal afaik.

I was wondering about that, I tried with a very old Intel Atom netbook and was able to get tasks XD

Got Ryzen 3600. Even if I limit my threads to 10, I'm still using all threats 100%. Is it normal?

Update on my Elastic Folding rig. Running in the cloud on g4dn.xlarge instances. The price has gone up slightly to $0.1677 per hour but still below my pricing threshold so 10 containers are running.

I was surprised to discover memory tracks with efficiency. Meaning, the memory dips when WUs are unavailable. So, I'm not at peak efficiency due to a lack of WUs, especially in the morning.

For the curious, g4dn.xlarge instances use a newish Xeon process along with a Tesla T4 GPU. This afternoon has been better at issuing WUs so I've climbed up a bit in the rankings: https://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/user_list.php?s=&srt=3&t=223518 and look for macaw2000

 

I'm still working on a write-up but this is not your bog standard AWS config. I'm using Docker, ECS, Auto-scaling (based on price), and the AWS CDK.

The type of booze is probably a factor too.....beer at 5% by volume you would probably be ok, but Everclear at 190 proof would probably murder you pretty quick.

I have set my ryzen 3600 on 8 threads, it seemed the best choice for me in order to not reduce the points of my GPU when running together and to not go over 75 C and its going to about 65% of CPU

For mew it's hard to say what is optimal, but I try lowering to 8. I've got so few WUs and especially both CPU and GPU at the same time. My temps are CPU just under 70 and RTX2080 72 atm when both are working...

I havve noticed my Highend computer (R9-3900x) gets back to back units if i have it maxed at 23 cores. if i have it at 12 its sporadic. and thats my secret to the number of WU's i crunch...it takes 30-40 mins each.
