Mine is saying currently running at around 620,000 units per day.  Is that considered good?  I am just running off of GeForce GTX 1660 super GPU.  My processor (Ryzen 7 2700x) temperature gets in the 80C range when I fold with it-- I'm waiting on a replacement Wraith Prism fan to see if that helps, but scared to run the CPU at that high of a temp.

That's grand! It's better than my system, which is idle so 0 PPD.

Also if you're worried about temps, only use half your cores/threads to fold for now.

I don't know about the points (I don't personally care about those much though it sounds good to me?), but as for thermals if your CPU is running under 80-85 consistently you should be perfectly fine.  If you start going north of 85-90 consistently then I'd be concerned.

Based on what I've skimmed through earlier in the thread that implies you've setup the passkey and have a decently powerful GPU and CPU.  If that's the case then the PPD listed is just you for your combined hardware, if I understand that correctly.

This. Its pretty simple. I am not sure how the Linux clients would work, assuming they are headless box's. But for Windows, works super easily. I am controlling my Windows box's from my macbook....

Linux clients work fine. I run 5 or 6 Linux systems and a couple of Windows system. Unser the hood the Advanced Control applet uses TELNET calls to TCP port 36330 so it is OS independent. I suspect that is why it is also written in Python as it makes supporting Window, Linux and OS X easier n the one developer who works part-time on it

Sort of, if you notice, the PPD will fluctuate if you do anything with your computer, especially if you have an NVIDIA GPU. The passkey is what allows you to earn QRBs (Quick Return Bonuses), which you become eligible for after submitting 10 valid WUs. The PPD is an estimated number of points you COULD get with your current hardware, at its current current usage by F@H cores, if it is fed WUs constantly and has no downtime.

Edit: Above assumes that you have F@H eating up every bit of your computer you can give it. If you have it set to medium, you may not see fluctuations if you put your computer under a light work load.

Ok. That's interesting. More fine-grained than I thought it might be.  The underlined stuff was how I understood it to work generally.

T500. I think it's a ram issue.

Some of the larger GPU Work Units (WUs) can use up to 1.5GB RAM. Learned that the hard way and had to upgrade my 6 GPU system from 4 to 8GB.

For a single CPU and GPU you’ll need 2GB memory and a 1.9 - 2.5MHz CPU at a minimum.

I ran an RTX 2070A on a Athlon II x2 2.8GHz processor for months with a single 2GB stick of DDR3-1333 with no noticeable drop in performance.

I'm lucky I can have 3/4 of the PCs in another room right now or my room would be a sauna with an anemic heater...and it's like the low 80's outside right now.  With my main rig I have to sleep F@H by 9-ish or else I can't sleep due to the heat in the room.

Are you saying you finished it and are trying to send it off?  The servers are generally very overloaded and uploading can take hours (I saw 5 hrs 10+ pages ago).  If it's taking more than a day have you restarted the PC/software client?  If so and it still does that it may well be trying one massively overloaded or just down server over and over.  Just leave it alone, it should get there eventually while the F@H crew sort things out on their end.  Meanwhile your PC should still be trying to download and run other jobs while that waits for send.

Ahhh, So the 2070 is the cheaper of the 2 if there is any price difference (if any, I would associate that more to the cooling solution having to be more robust)
