Hello,

Use real benchmarks like Cinebench R15 or R20 for the CPU.

3D Benchmarks or Unigine for the GPU.

Compare them online.

Userbenchmarks is garbage.

Here is my Fire Strike score with an EVGA 1080 ti SC2.

The physics score will be higher than yours since it is a 5ghz 6 core CPU but the graphics score should be about the same.

You can download Fire Strike along with Time Spy for free on Steam. Click on the "Download Demo" button on the Steam page.

Indeed the score are OK for your components. Was there an update to your GPU drivers or for your games?

It could be your HDDs. Windows checks them all the time and if one is underperforming it will take longer.

To test unplug your HDDs.

As a rule I never have a slower drive than my main drive on my gaming computers. I even will not put a SATA SSD in the computer that uses an 970 EVO. If I need slow storage it is remote.

It could also be Windows updates or GPU drivers.

Make sure you have performance set to max. Sometimes Windows updates change them.

Thanks for the reply. by saying it slows down my pc i meant it makes me get low fps in games so i dont think it is related to storage devices. My windows and gpu drivers are up to date. Im not sure but i guess i have a ram related problem i have 16 gb ram installed but it only shows that i have 12 gb of ram and 11 gb of usable ram.

Nevertheless, i dont think 12 gb of ram would bottleneck my pc that much in games. Do you have any other ideas?

Ram is cheap right now so get a proper set.

I use 16gb Ripjaws V Series DDR4 PC4-25600 3200MHz. It is about $70 now. I paid $200 for the same set in 2018.

If you think it is your GPU or CPU just use MSI Afterburner.

You can get it to show CPU, GPU, vram, ram,  usage and frame rate along with frame time.

Hi, I downloaded afterburner. In every game i get 50-80 percent cpu usage and less than 50 percent gpu usage and not near max ram usage. I researched a lot and could find anything useful. Can you help me with that please?

CPU usage is a bit meaningless on its own since some games use more CPU than others.

What I do is play at different resolutions to take load off the GPU and on to the CPU.

Here is what it looks like in AC:O.

AC)test.jpg.b7c0b4713593784bb3309e82f44ae0ad.jpg

At 4K the CPU is working less than it is at 1440p. There are no numbers in the 30s and 40s at 1440p.

At 4k the GPU is working harder than at 1440p. Even though the usage percentage is about the same it is running hotter and using more power. The GPU never gets close to 130% on the power limit at 1440p but at 4k it stays there most of the time.

With Control the readings are more in line with older games.

Control4k1440p.jpg.de69f54cfe8379dfd7e1256926647b66.jpg

The game is using one thread to do the rendering. That is thread 11.

At 4k the CPU is working less as usual.

The GPU is running about the same with almost half the frames at 4k.

AC:O uses more of the CPU so the frame rate difference between 4k and 1440p is not much.

With Control not much of the CPU is used so the frame rate is much higher at 1440p.

Also not the temperature of the CPU in both games.

With a game like Control your 4 core would be fine but with games like AC:O you would be horribly bottlenecked.

With my i7 2600k and i7 6700k at over 42% usage I was losing a serious amount of frames with 1080 tis and that is why I went 6 core and 5ghz plus. The cores are for games like AC:O and the ghz is for games like Control.
