Why does my PC lag???

Hi guys my PC lags a lot and it's kinda weird because my PC has a gtx 1060 3gb AMD 6300 fx and 16gb ddr3 windows 10

 

I am playing on low/med setting but it will still lag and fps are around 30 on all games i have tested.

 

Yes i know it is time to upgrade but i just don't have money for it. 

 

Any ideas why it is lagging am i bottle-necking something?

More than likely it's your processor. Even when they came out, FX chips were behind most of the phenom series from 2009~. So you're basically running games with 11 year old CPU horsepower. Time for an upgrade, unfortunately.

you can probably improve a bit, you didn't state if you have an SSD, or if your games are on the same drive as your windows install.

Getting an SSD will help with loading, and depending on the games you're playing, also with your FPS.

 

If you haven't already. Take your games off your windows drive. And have your games installed on a SSD.

also turn off shadows, this has helped me a lot in the past when i was using an 8330 with a R9.

Ok yeah i have a ssd and i did test turning off shadows still lags a lot 

 

I will just buy new motherboard,cpu,ram when i get the money.
