What game you have recently sunk most hours into?

zassou

ive been playing no man's sky day and night recently, since im practically out of job due to the outbreak. i have dumped 168 precious hours into it.

i bought this game back in 5th of august, 2018, and barely played, like only a dozen hours. i was put away by the horrible optimisation at the time and was more into another sandbox-y game: astroneer.

but astroneer is a game that is "more fun with friends" and no real storyline to begin with, since i have no friends, i burt out quickly.

then in late december, i heard the news about new update to the nms, suddently i realise this is the sort of game i could enjoy: sandbox-y, but not delibrately lacking content because of it; fun to play with friends and alone, and it's matured very well.

it's still not the 9/10 game i hoping it to be, and it's increasingly taxing on my haswell cpu due to my ever-growing agricultral base and i have to lower my settings to the console peasantry level.

yet im fully enjoying it, despite various shortcomings(believe me there are plenty). this is sort of game that should have a "labour of love" steam award instead letting take-two take it with their money-sucking casino whatnot.

back when it launches, it was slammed as the worst launch ever, a game thats totally not live up to the devs' promises. i was quite turned off by the weird, nausea-inducing palatte at the time. (i think they fixed in the foundation update?)

everyone thought this game is over, no more than another unrealistic fantasy of a deranged studio head and todd howard-wannabe.

oh boy how people were wrong.

this is one of those rare games that shouldn't be pushed by publishers, instead of coming out in 2016 and get panned by literally everyone; they should have more time and get it launch in oct, 2017.

===

anyway, previously i was thrilled by wolcen: lords of destruction, a diablo-like arpg.

i can safely say that i am one of the top 10 diablo 3 player...probably the best in this forum, i know the game inside-out. so you know what im coming here, i have high hope and standard about wolcen.

...and it'a disaster, even compared to 2016's nms.

still i have hope for it, that they can make the game better day by day, like hello games did.

why everybody post the spec of their rig here? i dont! cuz its made of mashed potatoes!

Usually I just play a game through once and I’m done.  Fallout4 was an exception because great fan made DLC kept on coming out for it.  I think I’ve got something like 4000 hours of fallout 4 listed.  Most of that was probably leaving my machine on pause for several days at a time though.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Getting more than 100 hours now into Age of Wonders: Planetfall. It's incredibly addicting despite the crappy lategame enemy AI.

Aside from that, the 3 games I've sunk a stupidly large amount of time during the last 10 years are StarCraft 2, Heroes of the Storm, and Dark Souls 3.

Ryzen 1600x @4GHz

Asus GTX 1070 8GB @1900MHz

16 GB HyperX DDR4 @3000MHz

Asus Prime X370 Pro

Samsung 860 EVO 500GB

Noctua NH-U14S

Seasonic M12II 620W

+ four different mechanical drives.

I just returned to Ark Survival Evolved. Haven't played since before they released Scorched Earth. And man, it is still an amazing game. Love it.

Think I've had about 500 hours last two months :)

Close to 1k hours in total now.

I have about 6500 hours on Fallout 4. It is my fourth most modded game with 165 installed.

I don't play the main quest or the DLCs but build and protect my settlements. I have sellers at killable and NPC spawns at 5X. So for every 1 enemy spawned vanilla, 5 are produced. This means enough radroaches to bring down a brahmin and swarms of blood bugs large enough to bring anything down.

This all comes at a cost since character saves over level 100 have to go on my computer that uses the 970 EVO SSD since they stutter on a SATA SSD and it is the only game that actually needs the 5ghz on the CPU to keep frames over 60 at 4k.

When the game came out I could run it at 60fps 4k with a GTX 980 ti and a i7 2600k. Now it takes a RTX 2080 ti with i7 8086k both overclocked and I have to limit the spawns to stay stutter free. I prefer 10X spawns but after level 30 the hordes of enemies create a moving framerate drop as they go down a road.

What I like to do most in Fallout 4 is revisit my saves I started when the game came out. These saves are in the 140 plus levels and are now waiting for new hardware to make them playable again.

Now I spend most of my time playing Space Engineers. I only have about 250 hour now but I can easily see getting in the thousands with it.

Huh.  My solution was to wall in everything and put up multiple rapid lasers and missile launchers. I’ve seen people build gigantic towers filled with roe after row of machine guns. That has its own cost.  Lots of rare metal.  Hadn’t thought to breed animals instead.  I could see it being required. Metal runs out.  I’ve never run a character even into the 70s

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Escape From Tarkov. The only reason I have played this in the past is because my friends do. I have grown to really like this game though, i now play solo whenever my friends dont jump on

According to Steam, ~300 odd hours in Fallout 3. Probably 40 hours of which, only of tinkering with my mods package.?

But overall it should easily be AoE 2, Rise of Nations or Battlefield 1942.

Star Trek Bridge Crew VR...have about 300 hours so far. It's a great game when you want to be able to sit down, relax and have hilarious fun with a group of people.

Apex Legends

It's quite funny because I don't like the game all that much, but the rank play makes it fun to me. Never liked shooters with superpowers and all that jazz, but the rank play makes it interesting. Now if I could only get passed Platinum. I've lived here for all  3 seasons. :(

In actual total Wolfie: Enemy Territory. ~ unknown amount of weeks.

For newer games, just for an example - No Man's Sky

I tend to get bored of newer games after about 60 hours.

Latest real timesink was 2015 - The Witcher 3 ~about 80-90 hours. Or was it 120+ can't really remember.

I edit my posts more often than not
