I think it's mostly cause of what she has right now, the idea of an upgrade has her excited...

Big oof. Those things are basically Chromebooks with extra software at this point

the 13s yeah but a 15 with dual GPUs are decent. she moved to a 2013 when her screen broke (was basically the same cost) and it is okay. I still wouldn't buy one but hey I'm not a final cut pro editor

Oh, she edits videos? Macbook's are good for video editing and music production.

Yep we both do. Eh video they‘ve lost their edge unless you love FCPX. DaVinci Resolve is so good now.
