Gtx 1650 super power issues

I have a 300 watts power supply and I was wondering if a gtx 1650 super would work with it even though its minimum power says 350 watts. My system is gtx 1050 2gb, 16 ram 128 GB nvme 1 tb hard drive i5 8400. I just want to do 1080 60 fps gaming smoothly as my 1050 can't in apex legends and escape from tarkov.

I'm not sure  when I opened my PC up I couldn't find the label cuz 2 sides were covered by my case I saw extra wires that were not being used tho

Then I am not sure if your 300W PSU will be enough for a 1650 Super.

A 1650 Super uses about 180W during a load scenario and an i5 8400 uses between 60 and 120W of power. The rest of your system will uses between 50 and 100W, so I will have to say a 300W will not be able to run all this. You would really need more.

This is my PC the only thing that I changed is ram to 16 gb I don't know what my mother board will be compatible with if I upgrade my psu and graphics card

Depends on what you are looking to spend, but this is probably a good combo.

Is this a prebuilt PC like a Dell, HP, Lenovo, Acer, etc. you're working with ? Because those often have low wattage PSU's, but usually also proprietary parts, that make it so you can't just place in a new PSU and occasionally you can't plug in a new videocard either.

Okay, looks like the power supply is at least ATX standard, as judged by the picture from the back and the screw positions. If you open up the PC, the motherboard should have a large rectangular connector on the right side. Check if that is a 24 pin ATX plug:

If it has that connector (that is 12x2 pins), it will likely work with that power supply. I don't have experience with ASUS prebuilt machines, so not sure how they react to having a new videocard installed.

So the gtx 1650 super should work if I have that wire properly?

If your PC has that wire, you can slot in the new videocard and you at least have enough power in your PC to install the videocard.

But as I said, I just don't have any experience with installing a new videocard in an ASUS system to say if it will work. HP and Dell systems for example sometimes have a locked BIOS, meaning a newly installed videocard might not work. Not sure if ASUS does the same thing.

I don't know.

That was the last part of my previous post, with other brands sometimes a new card worked right away, with others I had to try three different cards before it worked.

Plugged this into a wattage calculator and it recommended 261 watts

ASUS Rog Strix OC 1650 Super with a Boost of 1815MHz Base of 1755MHz and 1770

with DirectCU III with patented Wing-Blade Fans to increase airflow through the heatsink and also while ASUS FanConnect II provides dual 4-pin GPU-controlled PWM fan headers pretty good

Basically Tho you definitely bump up that power supply sell Your CPU and go AMD Ryzen 7 2700x looking for something a little less expensive Do Ryzen 5 2600 Idk what motherboard u using I don’t know if it supports AMD so check that if u don’t wanna switch Spend 40 Dollars on EVGA BR 500 watt I should get the job done and get a Rog Strix
