Wanting something newer for myself

Currently running a Asus M51 pre built. 4770, 16g ddr3, rx580. Going to give this one too my 10 year old son to play on. 

 

Looking at this build 

 

I have a 1440p monitor already, going to run windows op, wanting to keep the tower set up below $1100. Any recommendations for any changes that you would make?

If you can afford it, I'd upgrade the Intel 660p to 1TB. It has a much bigger buffer than the 512GB-model and thus doesn't throttle nearly as quickly, if you're doing something write-heavy. Otherwise, it's a solid choice; I've got a 1TB-model myself.
