Hey,

You should plug your CPU fan into the CPU header and use the cha_fan for a hub. CPU header speed is controlled dependent on your CPU temp.

The cha_fan can also be controlled dependent on the cpu temp (via the BIOS), so you can control the CPU fan speeds separately from your case fans.

Depends on how old mobo you have. But if its from last 2 generations of either AMD or Intel side, any header should be fine. You may need to change control settings from BIOS as some mobos use voltage control as default on some headers.
