Sony Walkman and other Android Audio Players

NotSoHonestAbe

Good evening forum members,

As I slowly get into more audiophilic interests I have been looking into android-run portable audio players such as the Sony NW-A100 series walkman or the Fiio M9. For general everyday use with my Fiio FA7 IEMs and my Master & Dynamic MW07 Plus. Because it seems like using a device like this would be able to really drive the FA7s especially to their best. Is this even true?

Also, I use spotify and don't really plan on changing that. Would the fact that I use spotify mean that using a device like the Walkman would not give any improvement over my usage of spotify now, which is just the spotify app on my Galaxy Note 9?

Steer clear from this hobby! It's an expensive endeavour of overblown hype and failed expectations.

Personally, I don't see the point of portable hi-fi. When you're out and about, it's hard to really focus on the music and enjoy the extra performance out of your "premium" earbuds. Wireless headphones are definitely the way forward and SONY is killing it
