I am broke

Hi everyone, i am new here, and i just wanted to ask you for advice.

I spent 160$ on RX 580 8GB, and i recived it and my pc wont boot with it.

I checked my psu, its 600w, 8 GB or ram, intel i5, everything is good until i saw that RX 580 cant boot bcs my motherboard is too old, and now here we are, i dont have money to buy motherboard and im stuck with hardware i cant use.

So i wanted to ask you for advice, if i sell my old pc for some cheap price and my GPU, and if i get some money, what are the best budget parts for good build that can wait for some time until i save some money for gpu.

Depends what you currently have

i5 just tells us you have a mid tier intel chip, not which one

do you have an OEM motherboard? If you do, hopefully you don't have an OEM power supply as well.

Can we see your spec list via pcpartpicker.com? It will help us give you advice

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

a cheap H61 motherboard from ebay, if possible, will save your build. they can be as low as like $30

thing is, you have an OEM motherboard. the problem is not the age but the fact that lenovo never planned to have a graphics card in that motherboard. any off the shelf board from something like gigabyte should not have this problem

but just to double check, you did make sure the RX 580 works right? maybe by testing with a friend's PC?

Like someone else said.

Are you sure the 580 works?

That mobo should support a 580.

Right. That doesn't provide any further information for us to help you with. Plus, since you're buying used parts, it's pretty much on you to find them.

Idk what to do, to sell all parts and buy some better ones that can be good for later or to save money and buy better mother board. Im scared that rx580 will get outdated until i save money for that damn motherboard.

In that case, like I said earlier. Find yourself a super cheap H61 motherboard or something like that and it'll solve your problems. I mean, people are using stuff like an RTX 2060 with their i7 2600k so the age difference is definitely not a factor.

OEM boards can be locked so you don't upgrade the computer (yes manufacturers can be that shitty) with a graphics card or to work only with the included card (if any) your processor *is* compatible with the card so that's not the problem, as others suggested you might need a new mobo (and case? if the OEM case form factor is odd)

Yeah, this mobo is crap, i run gt740 2gb on it fine, but its crap and i realized that now
