Rackmounted pc

mbntr

Backstory:

A week ago I bought a new server for very cheap, well yesterday I actually started using it and my sister and my mother started complaining because of the apparently very high amounts of dust, they are allergic to.

To me the server seems perfectly clean buy hey, it's loud and scary...

Anyways now my mother decided that my pc also is a major problem, I should add that it has never been but in this household anything with silicon inside is basically a form of satanism and the major cause of suffering in the world.

So after the III world war was ended and some more bs from My mother we decided that I had to put both the server and the pc inside a rack cabinet and put an fuckoff HEPA filter on top of the exaust port, because obviously it couldn't be installed in front of the fans, (those things mover more air than a jet engine) until then i have to use my 2010 macbook air, al literal pain in the, well you get it.

Do you know any 800mm deep rack cabinets and do you have any ideas on what kind of rack case could accommodate an ATX motherboard and 240mm radiator?

My favorite part though is that there is no way I'll get the parts before mid march because of... wait for it... Coronavirus, in fact I live in the only damn place in Europe (Milan) where it's a serious problem, and thanks to mass paranoia everything has been closed, (it would be a great time to play metro exodus).

your help would greatly appreciated!

PSA: No, I didn't waste all that money on computers, (except the main one) my server cost $40, the intel NUC was my old PC (although then it had 8GB of ram, I gave the bigger stick of ram to a person who really needed it), my laptop is used and the second PC is really cheap.

I like tinkering with computers and have a personal hatred towards phones and everything they represent (I daily drive an iPhone 7, or a 6, depends on which one works that day)

1. You should put the filter in front of the intake fans, so dust doesn't get into the case. I do the same with my servers (Just have some taped on filter material that i replace every so often).

2. Servers are meant to be air cooled so finding a server with fan ports for a rad is going to be hard. I just removed the middle hot swappable fan section on my SuperMicro server and have the AIO just laying on the bottom of the case. It looks like this:

3. Be advised rack cabinets are not cheap. I would recommend trying to find used ones online or locally (maybe there's an office shutting down near you). Also be weary of Network vs Server Cabinets. Networking racks have threaded holes vs Server ones which have square holes (what you want for rail mounting)

Thank you, I'll try to find some closing offices, or something similar, i took a look at new cabinets and they have a rather hefty pricing

Yep, if you're on a budget, you might try looking for open four post racks instead. Cabinets are typically super expensive because just to ship them is expensive.
