Video's rendering weird?

Hey guys, so I play 21:9 (3440x1440), and unfortunately shadow play only seems able to record my clips in 3440x1440. I'm fine with it having some black bars when I render it down (I suppose), and upload in 1080p. But is it possible for my PC to record in 16:9? Or would I be best somehow just cutting it down and losing the sides of my clip? I use Davinci Resolve.

 

As well here is an example of the issue I'm having. Uploaded this clip real quick, but there's black bars on all sides and the quality (even at 1080p), seems horrible. Does anyone have some sort of fix for me?

You can use something like OBS to record since you can scale output to 1080p or you can also render the video in 1080p, I believe.

I suppose I could give that a shot. My PC only has SSDs, so I don’t have mass storage dump space. I love shadow play because if something happens I can just hit a button and save the last 5 mins of action.

 

Shadow play also lets me select which resolution to record at, but it doesn’t seem to work. Everything comes out in 3440x1440

you can do that with obs as well

How? I can only change my output res to 2580x1080. There's no 16:9 resolutions.

How? I looked through all the options and there's nothing of the sort.

 

EDIT: I found replay buffer, but there's no way to change it from 21:9 to 16:9

not sure about 21:9 in OBS.
