The Porsche isn't quite as fast at accelerating so I used pretty much the fastest obtainable example, you can buy a Tesla or a Porsche but many of the other super fast EVs not so much

Well... the GT-R is one of Nissan's offerings that is different from an ordinary coupe/sedan/truck/SUV.

If they include offerings from the Infiniti line-up as well, heck, I don't mind trying out the 3.0T V6 400 HP Q60 Red Sport, too.

 

I got a good relationship with the local Lexus dealership here...so I've gotten the chance to just walk in and test drive, and dick around in a few cars...do some aggressive highway pulls...

• LS 430 / LS 460
• GS-F
• RC-350
• RX-350
• IS / ES / GS line-up

The Lexus V8's, and RC-350 / RX-350, etc...just to get the feel / experience is enough.

I'm not going to drop $50K+ USD on a RC-350 F-Sport...

Škoda is owned by VW Group, I doubt they did it on their own...

They are when you can’t even rely on them to go 10k miles without issue. 

I’m not against CVTs but I am against terribly unreliable transmissions.

The driving experience is like lukewarm meh though, regardless of reliability or efficiency. Every CVT car I've ever driven or been in was unexciting. It sounds like the engine is going "uhhhh" the whole time, like someone that ate lead paint chips.

With the current pricing, this is looking to be the worst way to use a car, even worse than leasing one.

 

I can definitely see it becoming an eventual service due to convenience though. Just need to price it right.

A concerning number of companies, not just the auto industry, are seeing ownership as a problem for revenue. Especially for something that most people keep for 6-8 years and then never return to them for repairs or servicing.
