can't restore a windows 10 image

xdeathshot20

ok so i helped someone reinstall windows 10 on there machine.  The mobo and drive were replaced.  We reinstalled windows and now after its installed and we can access it, we are unable to restore it from a image backup.  The guy did a full image backup to a external drive before we did the repair.  When he plugs in the drive, it pops up and we can access the data in file explorer but when we go to actually restore from it, it docent pop up.  how can we get the machine to restore form it?

If you installed fresh Windows, you cannot restore image without delete your current installation.

If you want your previous installation - why you installed new system?

Restore image is possible using the same program that was used for imaging.
