Questions about upgrading

Recommended Posts

Posted · Original PosterOP

I want to upgrade my i7 3770 to a Ryzen 5 3600 and I have a few questions:

1. Should I keep my current case and re use it for the upgraded build? It's a Fractal Define R5.

2. Should I re use my EVGA SuperNOVA GS 550W PSU for my GTX 1070?

Thanks.

if you are happy with the case, for sure!

I would say it's certainly still good for a R5 3600 + GTX 1070 system

Looks good.

Usually I recommend the MSI B450 Gaming Plus MAX too, as for most people it does just as well as the Tomahawk MAX, but the Tomahawk is a great option too. Only a 10 GBP difference though.

As for SSD, the ADATA SX8200 does really well for a good price.

Is the Sabrent Rocket any good? Also would it be worth getting a better CPU cooler?

I would mainly suggest it if you want a more quiet PC or want to OC your CPU.
