Which R9 290X should I get?

NameOfNoInterest

You will probably be fine with one at 1080p. Obviously 2 will give better mining performance, but it's up to you for mining. If you plan on gaming at above 1080p, you might want to get two. If not, you can always add another later on when you're not getting enough performance.

I'll go with two and see what happens. I'm going at 1080p

Never heard of VisionTec... If I were you I would stick with a reputable graphics card manufacturer, despite the fact that their products maybe more expensive.

When it comes to GPU's ONLY get cards from ASUS, MSI and Gigabyte. I would say get whichever 290X is the cheapest out of those. Othe names are less popular, and the cards usually overheat and throttle. The three afore mentioned brands do not, and they all have the best silence to themperature raitio. So get the ASUS.

Two 290X's will kickass at 1080P. You will get 60+FPS in every game on max settings.

It's cheaper to get 2 290's than the X models.

Well, based on this guys profile and other posts/topics I am 99.9% sure that he is going to mine. And the X models WILL be better for that.

For the ~ $150 difference the 290x doesn't get that much more than the 290...

Those GPU's are still expensive. They're like $40 cheaper in Australia for the Gigabyte models.

Getting two Asus 290X is $100 more than two Gigabyte 290 (USD)

Hmm, I'd probably get the 2 Asus 290x's over the Gigabyte 290's if it's just $100 difference.

To be honest it really doesn't

The 290X gets about 100 more KH/s, and for mining getting the 290X would then be better because you are making a lot more, and you are using the same amount of power from the wall.

Yeah, I'm gonna go for a 290X especially with only $100 difference for 200 KH/s more (using 2 of them)
